Members Insurance Benefits
Making a claim
All claims must be lodged within 30 days of the
date of the incident.
As part
of your membership of Cycling Australia you are provided with an extensive level of insurance cover.
Below is a brief outline for the cover but for more comprehensive detail, please contact Australian Sport Insurance

Public Liability Insurance
This covers registered financial
members & officials, employees and voluntary workers with a $20 million legal liability indemnity to the public whilst
performing duties related to activities of CA (and its affiliated states, clubs & promoters) including competition and
training. NB: This excludes member-to-member cover.
Personal Accident Insurance
Members also enjoy a limited
personal accident cover that provides 80% of non-Medicare medical expenses up to a maximum of $2,000 including Ambulance cover.
This cover is provided in response to accidents incurred whilst in competition and endorsed training activities. (Excess $30)
In addition to the above
further cover is provided as a result of injuries incurred in competition only (excludes training):
Capital Benefits up to $10,000; and
An amount of
$200 per week (after an excess period of 2 weeks) for Income Assistance, Domestic Help or as a Home Tutorial Benefit.
Professional Indemnity for Coaches
Coaches
with current membership and accreditation status are provided with liability cover of $5 million whilst engaged in coaching
activities under the control of CA and its affiliates.
Please contact the CA office
for your claim form. Please note that the claim form has to be returned to CA for verification of membership. CA will then
forward the claim to the insurer.
You should
also ensure that race officials are aware of any accident or incident that occurred during a race and that a report on such
incidents has been recorded or noted.
International Licences and Insurance
In accordance with international
rules, Australian cyclists must have a current international licence to race overseas and in UCI events in Australia. To obtain
an international licence, a cyclist must be a member of CA and must obtain adequate insurance to meet your requirements and
obligations whilst traveling and competing overseas.
Members may source their
own insurance's and provide a copy of the policy to CA when applying for an international licence or alternatively you may
utilize the scheme currently managed by ASIB. Applications must be submitted on the CA form available on our website, at least
one month before your departure date. NB: Non-competing team officials do not require cover while in competition but still
require travel insurance covering medical expenses.
Registered Promoters
Individuals or entities
that have been granted a CA private Promoters licence are covered under CA Public Liability subject to the provision of full
risk management documentation at least two months prior to each respective event. The underwriter reserves the right to reject
terms for a private promoter.
